Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Spanner
  • Leveling gauge
  • Pliers

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unpack and Check Components: Verify all parts are included according to the parts list. Check for any shipping damage.
  2. Assemble the Frame: Connect the vertical aluminum extrusions to the base using the provided screws and brackets.
  3. Install the X-axis: Mount the X-axis gantry to the vertical extrusions, ensuring it moves smoothly without binding.
  4. Install the Y-axis Bed: Attach the heated bed to the Y-axis carriage, ensuring all wheels are properly adjusted.
  5. Install the Extruder Assembly: Mount the extruder and hotend to the X-axis carriage, connecting the Bowden tube securely.
  6. Electrical Connections: Connect all motors, endstops, heated bed, and hotend to the main control board following the wiring diagram.
  7. Bed Leveling: Perform manual bed leveling using the paper method to ensure proper first layer adhesion.
  8. Test Run: Power on the printer, run auto-home, and perform a test print to verify proper operation.
Warning: Ensure all electrical connections are secure before powering on. Keep hands away from moving parts during operation.

Key Features

Magnetic Build Surface

Removable magnetic build plate allows for easy print removal and quick surface replacement when worn.

MeanWell Power Supply

High-quality UL-certified power supply provides stable voltage output and enhanced safety during long printing sessions.

Upgraded Extruder

All-metal extruder with improved tensioner provides better filament grip and more consistent extrusion.

V-Slot Aluminum Profile

High-quality aluminum extrusion frame provides excellent stability and rigidity for precise printing.

Resume Print Function

Automatically resumes printing from the last position after power failure, preventing print failures.

Carborundum Glass Platform

Ultra-strong adhesion surface that works with various filament types without additional adhesives.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts thermoplastic filament and deposits it layer by layer to create 3D objects.

Bowden Extruder

Separates the extruder motor from the hotend, reducing moving mass and allowing faster print speeds.

Heated Bed

Prevents warping by keeping the first layers at optimal temperature for different filament types.

Manual Leveling

Four-point manual bed leveling system with sturdy springs for precise and stable bed adjustment.

Quiet Operation

Stepper motor drivers reduce operational noise, making it suitable for home and office environments.

Open Source

Fully open-source design allows for extensive modifications and community-driven improvements.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't power on Power switch off, loose cable, faulty power supply Check power switch, ensure all cables are secure, test outlet
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping, wrong temperature Clean nozzle, adjust extruder tension, check temperature settings
Poor bed adhesion Unlevel bed, dirty build surface, wrong bed temperature Re-level bed, clean surface with alcohol, adjust bed temperature
Layer shifting Loose belts, mechanical obstruction, overheating drivers Tighten belts, check for obstructions, ensure proper cooling
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings too low, temperature too high Increase retraction distance/speed, lower printing temperature
Warped prints Insufficient bed heating, drafts, poor first layer adhesion Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, improve first layer

Common Error Messages

  • Thermal Runaway: Temperature sensor issue - Check thermistor connections
  • Heating Failed: Heater cartridge issue - Check heater connections and resistance
  • Max Temp Error: Temperature exceeded safety limit - Check cooling and thermistor
  • Min Temp Error: Temperature below minimum - Check thermistor and ambient temperature
  • Homing Failed: Endstop not triggered - Check endstop wiring and positioning
  • SD Card Error: Card not detected - Reformat card or try different card
