Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Spanner (included)
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling card or paper

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unbox and Check Components: Carefully unpack all parts and verify all components are present using the parts list.
  2. Assemble Frame: Connect the vertical aluminum extrusions to the base frame using provided screws and brackets.
  3. Install Z-axis: Mount the Z-axis lead screw and motor to the vertical frame, ensuring smooth movement.
  4. Mount X-axis: Install the X-axis gantry with the extruder assembly, ensuring it moves freely along the Z-axis.
  5. Install Print Bed: Mount the heated bed onto the Y-axis carriage, ensuring it's secure and level.
  6. Connect Electronics: Route and connect all cables to the mainboard following the wiring diagram.
  7. Initial Calibration: Level the print bed and calibrate the Z-axis offset for proper first layer adhesion.
  8. Test Print: Run the included test file to verify proper operation and calibration.
Warning: Ensure proper electrical connections and keep the printer on a stable, level surface. First-time setup should be done carefully following all instructions.

Carborundum Glass Platform

Ultra-flat tempered glass build plate with special coating provides excellent adhesion and easy print removal.

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress and can resume printing after power failure, preventing wasted filament and time.

Upgraded Extruder

Improved MK-8 extruder with better grip and feeding mechanism reduces filament slipping and clogging issues.

V-Slot Aluminum Profile

High-quality aluminum extrusion frame provides excellent stability and rigidity for precise printing results.

Magnetic Build Surface

Removable magnetic build plate allows for easy print removal and quick surface changes between prints.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts and extrudes thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create 3D objects.

Precision Stepper Motors

High-torque stepper motors with 1.8° step angle provide precise movement control in all axes.

Thermal Runaway Protection

Advanced firmware includes thermal runaway protection for both nozzle and heated bed for enhanced safety.

Bowden Extruder System

Lightweight print head design reduces moving mass, allowing for faster print speeds and better quality.

Open Source Firmware

Based on Marlin firmware, allowing for customization and community-driven improvements.

Wide Material Compatibility

Compatible with PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, wood-filled, and other specialty filaments with appropriate settings.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, loose connections Check power supply, ensure all cables are securely connected
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean build surface
Filament not extruding Nozzle clogged, extruder gear slipping Clean nozzle, check extruder tension, ensure proper temperature
Layer shifting Belt tension, mechanical obstruction Check and adjust belt tension, ensure smooth movement on all axes
Stringing/oozing Temperature too high, retraction settings Lower temperature, increase retraction distance and speed
Warped prints Bed temperature, cooling, adhesion Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, apply adhesive

Common Issues and Solutions

  • Under-extrusion: Check filament diameter settings, extruder calibration, and nozzle for clogs
  • Overheating: Ensure proper cooling fan operation and check for dust accumulation in electronics
  • Z-axis binding: Check lead screw alignment and lubrication
  • LCD not responding: Check cable connections to mainboard
  • Thermal runaway error: Check thermistor connections and replace if damaged
  • Inconsistent extrusion: Check for filament tangles and extruder gear wear
