Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Spanner wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling gauge

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unpack and Check Components: Carefully unpack all parts and verify against the parts list in the manual.
  2. Assemble Frame: Connect the vertical aluminum extrusions to the base using the provided screws and brackets.
  3. Install Z-Axis: Mount the Z-axis lead screw and stepper motor to the frame, ensuring smooth movement.
  4. Install X-Axis: Attach the X-axis gantry with the extruder assembly to the vertical frame.
  5. Install Y-Axis: Mount the heated bed onto the Y-axis carriage and connect the belt.
  6. Connect Electronics: Route and connect all cables to the mainboard following the wiring diagram.
  7. Level the Bed: Use the manual leveling knobs to adjust the bed height at all four corners.
  8. Test Run: Power on the printer and run initial calibration and test prints.
Warning: Ensure all electrical connections are secure before powering on. Keep hands clear of moving parts during operation.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create 3D objects

Bowden Extruder

Lightweight print head design reduces moving mass for faster and more precise movements

V-Slot Wheels

Precision POM wheels provide smooth motion on aluminum extrusions with minimal maintenance

PID Temperature Control

Accurate temperature regulation for both hotend and heated bed ensures consistent print quality

Filament Runout Sensor

Optional sensor detects when filament runs out and pauses printing automatically

Manual Bed Leveling

Four-point manual leveling system with sturdy springs for precise bed calibration

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't power on Power switch off, loose cable, faulty power supply Check power switch, ensure all cables are connected securely
Poor bed adhesion Unlevel bed, dirty build surface, incorrect bed temperature Re-level bed, clean with isopropyl alcohol, adjust bed temperature
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping, incorrect temperature Clean nozzle, tighten extruder tension, increase hotend temperature
Layer shifting Loose belts, over-tightened wheels, stepper driver issues Tighten belts, adjust wheel tension, check stepper connections
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings incorrect, temperature too high Adjust retraction distance and speed, lower printing temperature
Warped prints Insufficient bed heating, cooling too fast, draft in room Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, reduce cooling fan speed

Common Error Messages

  • Thermal Runaway: Temperature sensor issue - Check thermistor connections
  • Heating Failed: Heater cartridge issue - Check heater wiring
  • Max Temp Error: Temperature exceeded safety limit - Allow to cool and restart
  • Min Temp Error: Temperature below minimum - Check room temperature
  • Filament Runout: No filament detected - Load new filament
  • SD Card Error: Card not detected - Reformat SD card or try different card
