Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Spanner (included)
  • Leveling card or paper
  • Pliers

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unbox and Inspect: Carefully unbox all components and verify all parts are present using the parts checklist.
  2. Assemble Frame: Connect the vertical aluminum extrusions to the base frame using the provided screws and wrenches.
  3. Install X-Axis: Mount the X-axis gantry to the vertical extrusions, ensuring smooth movement without binding.
  4. Install Print Head: Attach the Sprite Direct Drive extruder assembly to the X-axis carriage.
  5. Connect Electronics: Route and connect all cables to the main control board following the color-coded connectors.
  6. Install Build Plate: Place the magnetic PEI build plate on the heated bed and secure with clips.
  7. Level the Bed: Use the automatic bed leveling feature followed by manual fine-tuning with paper.
  8. Test Run: Perform a test print to verify proper operation and calibration.
Warning: Ensure proper ventilation when printing and keep flammable materials away from the printer. First-time setup should be supervised by an experienced user.

Key Features

Sprite Direct Drive Extruder

Integrated direct drive extruder with dual-gear feeding system provides precise filament control, reduced stringing, and excellent performance with flexible filaments.

CR Touch Auto Leveling

Automatic bed leveling with 16-point mesh compensation ensures perfect first layers every time, eliminating manual bed leveling hassles.

Dual Z-Axis Lead Screws

Dual synchronized Z-axis lead screws provide exceptional stability and precision, preventing gantry sag and ensuring consistent layer quality.

PEI Magnetic Build Plate

Spring steel PEI-coated magnetic build plate offers excellent adhesion when hot and easy print removal when cool, with flexible surface for convenience.

Silent Motherboard

32-bit silent mainboard with TMC2225 stepper drivers operates quietly while providing smooth, precise movements and reduced vibration artifacts.

Rapid Heating

High-power heating system reaches printing temperature in just 2 minutes, with PID auto-tuning for stable temperature control throughout prints.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Printing

Fused Deposition Modeling melts thermoplastic filament and deposits it layer by layer to create 3D objects

Direct Drive

Extruder mounted directly on print head reduces retraction distance and improves flexible filament printing

Auto Leveling

Probe measures bed surface and creates compensation mesh for perfect first layer adhesion

PEI Surface

Textured polyetherimide coating provides excellent adhesion without adhesives and easy release when cool

Dual Z-Axis

Two synchronized lead screws eliminate gantry sag and ensure consistent layer height across entire build area

Silent Operation

StealthChop technology reduces motor noise while maintaining precise movement control

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, main switch off, faulty cable Check power supply, ensure switch is on, inspect power cable
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height, dirty bed Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping, filament jam Clean nozzle, check extruder tension, clear filament path
Layer shifting Belt tension, mechanical obstruction, overheating drivers Adjust belt tension, check for obstructions, ensure cooling
Stringing/oozing High temperature, retraction settings, moist filament Lower temperature, adjust retraction, dry filament
Warping Bed temperature too low, drafts, adhesion issues Increase bed temp, use enclosure, apply adhesive

Error Codes

  • E1: Hotend temperature error - Check thermistor and heating cartridge
  • E2: Bed temperature error - Check bed thermistor and heater
  • E3: Thermal runaway - Check cooling and temperature sensors
  • E4: Power loss - Resume print or restart
  • E5: Filament runout - Load new filament or disable sensor
  • E6: Probe error - Check CR Touch wiring and function
