Assembly Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Allen wrenches (included)
  • Spanner wrench (included)
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Pliers
  • Leveling tool

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unbox and Inventory: Carefully unpack all components and verify all parts are present using the included checklist.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame according to the provided diagram, ensuring all connections are tight.
  3. Z-Axis Installation: Install the Z-axis lead screw and motor, ensuring smooth vertical movement without binding.
  4. X-Axis Assembly: Mount the X-axis gantry with the extruder assembly, checking for proper alignment.
  5. Y-Axis Bed Installation: Install the heated bed onto the Y-axis carriage, ensuring it moves smoothly on the rails.
  6. Electronics Installation: Mount the mainboard, power supply, and display unit in their designated locations.
  7. Wiring Connection: Connect all motors, endstops, heated bed, and thermistors following the color-coded wiring diagram.
  8. Final Calibration: Level the bed, set Z-offset, and perform initial calibration tests.
Warning: Ensure all electrical connections are secure before powering on. First-time assembly should be supervised by someone experienced with 3D printers.

Key Features

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress. In case of power failure, printing can resume from the last layer without starting over.

Carborundum Glass Platform

Special textured glass bed provides excellent adhesion while hot and easy release when cooled, eliminating need for adhesives.

MeanWell Power Supply

High-quality UL-certified power supply ensures stable voltage output and safe operation during long printing sessions.

V-Slot Aluminum Profile

Precision aluminum extrusion frame provides exceptional stability and rigidity for consistent print quality.

Upgradable Design

Open-source design allows for extensive modifications and upgrades including auto-bed leveling, direct drive, and silent boards.

Bowden Extruder System

Lightweight extruder design reduces moving mass on X-axis, allowing for faster printing speeds with good precision.

Printing Materials Compatibility

PLA

Easy to print, low warp, ideal for beginners and general purpose printing

ABS

Durable and heat resistant, requires heated bed and enclosure for best results

PETG

Strong and flexible, combines ease of PLA with durability of ABS

TPU

Flexible filament for rubber-like parts, requires slow printing speeds

Wood Fill

PLA with wood fibers, produces wood-like appearance and can be sanded/stained

Carbon Fiber

Reinforced filament for extra strength and stiffness, requires hardened nozzle

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Filament not extruding Nozzle clog, extruder gear slipping, low temperature Clean nozzle, tighten extruder spring, increase temperature
Poor bed adhesion Unlevel bed, dirty surface, incorrect Z-offset Re-level bed, clean with alcohol, adjust Z-offset
Layer shifting Belt tension, stepper current, mechanical obstruction Tighten belts, check stepper drivers, ensure smooth movement
Stringing/oozing Temperature too high, retraction settings incorrect Lower temperature, increase retraction distance/speed
Warping/corner lift Bed temperature, cooling, adhesion issues Increase bed temp, use brim/raft, ensure clean bed surface
Under-extrusion Partial clog, extruder calibration, filament diameter Cold pull, calibrate E-steps, check filament consistency

Common Error Messages

  • THERMAL RUNAWAY: Temperature control failure - Check thermistor and heater connections
  • HOMING FAILED: Endstop not triggered - Check endstop wiring and positioning
  • HEATING FAILED: Temperature not reaching target - Check heater cartridge and thermistor
  • MAXTEMP ERROR: Temperature reading too high - Check thermistor for short circuit
  • MINTEMP ERROR: Temperature reading too low - Check thermistor connection
  • FILAMENT RUNOUT: Filament sensor triggered - Reload filament or bypass sensor
