Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Spanner wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling gauge

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unbox and Inventory: Carefully unbox all components and verify all parts are included according to the parts list.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame using the provided screws and brackets.
  3. Install Z-axis: Mount the Z-axis lead screw and motor to the vertical frame.
  4. Install X-axis: Attach the X-axis gantry with the extruder assembly to the vertical frame.
  5. Install Y-axis: Mount the heated bed to the Y-axis carriage and install the belt system.
  6. Electronics Installation: Mount the control board and power supply, then connect all motors and limit switches.
  7. Bed Leveling: Perform manual bed leveling using the paper method to ensure proper first layer adhesion.
  8. Test Run: Run the printer through a calibration test to check all axes movement and heating functions.
Warning: Ensure proper electrical grounding and follow all safety instructions. Keep away from flammable materials during operation.

Key Features

Magnetic Build Surface

Removable magnetic build plate allows for easy print removal and provides excellent adhesion for various filament types.

Meanwell Power Supply

High-quality UL certified power supply ensures stable power output and enhanced safety during long printing sessions.

V-Slot Aluminum Profile

Industrial-grade aluminum extrusion frame provides excellent stability and rigidity for precise printing results.

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress and can resume printing after power failure, preventing wasted time and materials.

Upgradable Design

Open-source design allows for extensive modifications and upgrades including auto bed leveling and silent drivers.

Precision TMC2208 Drivers

Silent stepper motor drivers reduce operational noise while providing smooth and precise movement control.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts thermoplastic filament and deposits it layer by layer to create 3D objects.

Bowden Extruder

Lightweight extruder design reduces moving mass on X-axis for faster and more precise printing.

Heated Bed

Temperature controlled build plate prevents warping and improves adhesion for various materials.

Precision Rails

High-quality linear rails ensure smooth movement and accurate positioning in all axes.

Filament Runout Sensor

Detects when filament runs out and pauses printing to allow for filament change.

Thermal Protection

Multiple thermal sensors and protection circuits prevent overheating and ensure safe operation.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, fuse blown, wiring loose Check power supply, replace fuse if needed, check all connections
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height, dirty bed Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Nozzle clogged, extruder gear slipping, filament jam Clean nozzle, adjust extruder tension, check for filament tangles
Layer shifting Belt tension loose, stepper current incorrect, mechanical obstruction Tighten belts, adjust stepper current, check for obstructions
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings incorrect, temperature too high Adjust retraction settings, lower printing temperature
Warped prints Bed temperature too low, cooling too fast, draft in room Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, reduce cooling fan speed

Error Codes

  • E1: Hotend temperature error - Check thermistor and heating cartridge
  • E2: Bed temperature error - Check bed thermistor and heater
  • E3: Thermal runaway - Check all thermal sensors and connections
  • E4: Power loss - Check power supply and connections
  • E5: Filament runout - Replace or insert new filament
  • E6: Overcurrent - Check stepper motors and drivers
