Printing Technology Explained
FDM Technology
Fused Deposition Modeling melts thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create 3D objects
Bowden Extruder
Lightweight print head design reduces moving mass for faster and more precise printing
Heated Bed
Prevents warping and improves adhesion for materials like ABS and PETG
Thermal Runaway Protection
Safety feature that automatically shuts down heating if temperature exceeds set limits
Manual Bed Leveling
Four-point manual leveling system with sturdy springs for precise bed calibration
Filament Runout Sensor
Optional sensor that pauses printing when filament runs out (sold separately)
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Printer won't start | Power issue, faulty power supply | Check power cable, verify power switch is on, test outlet |
| Poor first layer adhesion | Unlevel bed, incorrect nozzle height, dirty bed | Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol |
| Filament not extruding | Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping | Perform cold pull, clean nozzle, check extruder tension |
| Layer shifting | Loose belts, stepper driver issues | Tighten belts, check stepper motor connections |
| Stringing/oozing | High temperature, insufficient retraction | Lower temperature, increase retraction distance/speed |
| Warped prints | Uneven cooling, bed temperature too low | Use enclosure, increase bed temperature, add brim |
Error Codes
- E1: Hotend temperature too high - Check thermistor and heating cartridge
- E2: Hotend temperature too low - Check heating cartridge connection
- E3: Bed temperature too high - Check bed thermistor
- E4: Bed temperature too low - Check bed heating connection
- E5: Thermal runaway detected - Check all temperature sensors
- E6: Filament runout - Load new filament or disable sensor
