Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling gauge
  • Spanner

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unpack and Check Components: Verify all parts are included according to the parts list. Lay out all components in a clean workspace.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame using the provided screws and brackets. Ensure all connections are tight and square.
  3. Install Z-axis: Mount the Z-axis lead screw and motor to the vertical frame. Ensure smooth movement without binding.
  4. Install X-axis Gantry: Attach the X-axis gantry with the extruder assembly. Adjust eccentric nuts for proper wheel tension.
  5. Install Print Bed: Mount the heated bed to the Y-axis carriage. Ensure it moves smoothly along the Y-axis rails.
  6. Electrical Connections: Connect all motors, endstops, heated bed, and hotend to the mainboard following the wiring diagram.
  7. Bed Leveling: Perform manual bed leveling using the paper method to ensure proper nozzle height across the entire print surface.
  8. Test Run: Run the printer through initial setup and calibration routines to verify proper operation.
Warning: Ensure proper electrical grounding and keep the printer away from flammable materials. First-time setup should be supervised by experienced users.

Key Features

Magnetic Build Surface

Removable magnetic build plate allows for easy print removal and quick surface replacement. Provides excellent adhesion and smooth bottom layers.

MeanWell Power Supply

High-quality UL-certified power supply ensures stable power output and enhanced safety during long printing sessions.

V-Slot Aluminum Profile

Sturdy aluminum extrusion frame provides excellent stability and rigidity, reducing vibrations and improving print quality.

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress. In case of power failure, printing can resume from the last saved position without starting over.

Upgradable Design

Open-source design allows for extensive modifications and upgrades including auto bed leveling, direct drive extruder, and silent stepper drivers.

Precision Stepper Motors

High-torque stepper motors with 1.8° step angle provide precise movement control for accurate layer deposition.

Printing Technology Explained

PLA Printing

Ideal for beginners, prints at 200-220°C with minimal warping and easy bed adhesion

ABS Printing

Requires heated bed (100-110°C) and enclosure for best results, offers strength and heat resistance

PETG Printing

Combines PLA's ease of printing with ABS's strength, prints at 230-250°C

TPU Printing

Flexible filament requiring slow print speeds and direct drive extruder for optimal results

Wood Filament

Composite filament containing wood particles, produces wood-like finish and can be sanded and stained

High-Speed Mode

Optimized settings for faster printing while maintaining acceptable quality for prototypes

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, faulty power supply, loose connections Check power cable, verify power switch, inspect all connections
Poor bed adhesion Unlevel bed, incorrect nozzle height, dirty build surface Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean build surface with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping, filament tangles Clean nozzle, tighten extruder tension, check filament path
Layer shifting Loose belts, mechanical binding, overheating drivers Tighten belts, lubricate rods, check stepper driver cooling
Stringing/oozing High temperature, insufficient retraction, moist filament Lower temperature, increase retraction, dry filament
Warped prints Insufficient bed heat, cooling too fast, drafty environment Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, reduce cooling fan speed

Common Error Messages

  • Thermal Runaway: Temperature control issue - Check thermistor and heater cartridge connections
  • Heating Failed: Heater not reaching temperature - Check heater cartridge and wiring
  • Max Temp Error: Temperature exceeded safety limit - Check thermistor and cooling
  • Min Temp Error: Temperature below minimum - Check thermistor and ambient temperature
  • Homing Failed: Endstop not triggered - Check endstop switches and wiring
  • SD Card Error: Card not detected - Reformat SD card or try different card
