Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Spanner wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling card (included)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unbox and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from packaging and verify all parts are included and undamaged.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame according to the provided diagram, ensuring all connections are tight.
  3. Install Gantry System: Mount the X-axis gantry to the vertical frames, ensuring smooth movement without binding.
  4. Install Print Bed: Attach the heated bed to the Y-axis carriage, ensuring it is securely fastened.
  5. Install Extruder Assembly: Mount the Sprite Direct Drive extruder to the X-axis gantry and connect all cables.
  6. Electrical Connections: Connect power supply, mainboard, and all stepper motors following the color-coded wiring diagram.
  7. Level the Bed: Use the CR-Touch auto-leveling sensor and manual adjustments to ensure the print bed is perfectly level.
  8. Test Run: Perform initial calibration, test all axes movement, and run a test print to verify proper operation.
Warning: Ensure proper electrical grounding and keep the printer on a stable, level surface away from flammable materials.

Key Features

Sprite Direct Drive Extruder

All-metal direct drive extruder with dual-gear feeding system provides precise filament control, reduced stringing, and excellent performance with flexible filaments.

CR-Touch Auto Leveling

Automatic bed leveling sensor ensures perfect first layer adhesion every time by creating a detailed mesh of the print surface.

Dual Z-axis Lead Screws

Dual Z-axis motors with lead screws provide exceptional stability and prevent gantry sagging, ensuring consistent layer quality throughout large prints.

PC Spring Steel Build Plate

Magnetic PEI-coated spring steel build plate offers excellent adhesion when hot and easy print removal when cool, with flexible surface for effortless part removal.

Silent Mainboard

32-bit silent mainboard with TMC2209 stepper drivers provides ultra-quiet operation while maintaining precise motor control and smooth movement.

All-metal Hotend

High-temperature all-metal hotend allows printing with a wide range of materials including PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, and more advanced filaments.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts thermoplastic filament and deposits it layer by layer to create three-dimensional objects.

Direct Drive System

Extruder mounted directly on the print head reduces retraction distance and improves control over flexible materials.

Auto Bed Leveling

Probe measures multiple points on the bed surface to compensate for any unevenness, ensuring perfect first layer adhesion.

Heated Build Plate

Temperature-controlled bed prevents warping and improves adhesion for various filament types during printing.

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress and can resume printing after power interruption, preventing failed prints from power outages.

Filament Runout Sensor

Detects when filament runs out and pauses printing, allowing you to reload filament and continue the print without losing progress.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, faulty power switch Check power supply, ensure proper voltage setting, check all connections
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height, dirty build plate Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean build surface with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping, incorrect temperature Perform cold pull to clear clog, check extruder tension, verify temperature settings
Layer shifting Loose belts, stepper motor issues, mechanical obstruction Tighten belts, check stepper connections, ensure smooth movement on all axes
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings incorrect, temperature too high Increase retraction distance/speed, lower printing temperature
Warping/corner lifting Bed temperature too low, cooling too fast, draft in room Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, ensure proper first layer adhesion

Common Error Messages

  • THERMAL RUNAWAY: Temperature control issue - Check thermistor and heater cartridge connections
  • HOMING FAILED: Endstop not triggered - Check limit switches and wiring
  • NOZZLE TOO COLD: Heating failure - Verify heater cartridge functionality
  • FILAMENT RUNOUT: Filament sensor triggered - Reload filament or check sensor
  • PROBING FAILED: CR-Touch issue - Check probe deployment and wiring
  • PRINTER HALTED: Critical error - Restart printer and check for obstructions
