Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex wrenches (included)
  • Phillips screwdriver
  • Spanner wrench
  • Leveling card or paper
  • Pliers

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unbox and Inventory: Carefully unbox all components and verify all parts are present using the included checklist.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame according to the diagram, ensuring all connections are tight and square.
  3. Install Gantry: Mount the X-axis gantry to the vertical frames, ensuring smooth movement without binding.
  4. Install Print Bed: Attach the heated bed to the Y-axis carriage, ensuring it is securely fastened.
  5. Install Extruder: Mount the Sprite Direct Drive Extruder to the X-axis gantry and connect all cables.
  6. Connect Electronics: Route and connect all cables to the mainboard following the color-coded guides.
  7. Level the Bed: Perform manual bed leveling using the included leveling card, then run auto-leveling.
  8. Test Run: Perform a test print using the included sample filament to verify proper operation.
Warning: Ensure the printer is placed on a stable, level surface away from flammable materials. Keep children and pets away during operation.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, loose connections Check power supply, ensure all cables are securely connected
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean build surface

Error Messages

  • THERMAL RUNAWAY: Temperature control issue - Check thermistor and heater connections

  • HOMING FAILED: Axis homing issue - Check endstops and mechanical movement
  • HEATING FAILED: Temperature not reaching target - Check heater cartridge
  • PROBE ERROR: CR Touch malfunction - Check probe connection and function
  • SD CARD ERROR: Storage issue - Format SD card or try different card
