Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Allen wrenches (included)
  • Spanner wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling gauge

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unbox and Inventory: Carefully unpack all components and verify all parts are present using the included checklist.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame according to the numbered diagram, ensuring all connections are tight.
  3. Z-Axis Installation: Install the Z-axis lead screw and motor, ensuring smooth vertical movement without binding.
  4. X-Axis and Hotend: Mount the X-axis gantry and install the hotend assembly with cooling fans.
  5. Build Plate Installation: Install the heated bed and leveling springs, then attach the magnetic build surface.
  6. Electronics Connection: Connect all motors, endstops, heated bed, and hotend to the main control board following the color-coded wiring diagram.
  7. Bed Leveling: Perform manual bed leveling using the paper method to ensure proper first layer adhesion.
  8. Test Print: Run the included test file to verify proper operation and calibration.
Warning: Ensure proper electrical grounding and keep flammable materials away from the printer during operation.

Mean Well Power Supply

High-quality UL-certified power supply ensures stable voltage output and improved safety during long printing sessions.

Carborundum Glass Bed

Ultra-flat tempered glass build surface with special coating provides excellent adhesion while allowing easy print removal when cooled.

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress in case of power failure, allowing you to resume printing exactly where it stopped.

Upgradable Design

Open-source design with extensive community support allows for easy upgrades including BLTouch, silent boards, and direct drive conversions.

Precision TMC2208 Drivers

Silent stepper motor drivers reduce operational noise to below 50dB while providing smooth and precise movement.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Printing

Fused Deposition Modeling technology melts and extrudes thermoplastic filament layer by layer

Bowden Extruder

Lightweight print head design reduces inertia for faster printing speeds and better quality

Marlin Firmware

Open-source firmware with extensive customization options and community support

PID Temperature Control

Precise temperature regulation maintains consistent hotend and bed temperatures

Manual Bed Leveling

Four-point manual leveling system with upgraded springs for stable bed alignment

Filament Runout Sensor

Optional sensor detects when filament runs out and pauses the print automatically

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power supply issue, faulty connection Check power switch, ensure all connections are secure
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean build surface
Filament not extruding Nozzle clog, extruder gear slipping Clean nozzle, check extruder tension, increase temperature
Layer shifting Belt tension, mechanical obstruction Tighten belts, check for binding, reduce print speed
Stringing/oozing Temperature too high, retraction settings Lower temperature, increase retraction distance/speed
Warped prints Bed temperature, cooling, adhesion Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, apply adhesive

Common Error Messages

  • THERMAL RUNAWAY: Temperature control failure - Check thermistor connections
  • HEATING FAILED: Heater not reaching temperature - Check heater cartridge
  • HOMING ERROR: Endstop not triggered - Check endstop switches and wiring
  • FILAMENT RUNOUT: No filament detected - Reload filament or disable sensor
  • MAXTEMP ERROR: Temperature exceeded limit - Check thermistor readings
  • MINTEMP ERROR: Temperature below minimum - Check thermistor connections
