Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Allen wrenches (included)
  • Spanner wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Leveling gauge or paper
  • Measuring tape

Step-by-Step Leveling Process

  1. Prepare the Printer: Ensure the printer is on a stable, level surface and all components are properly assembled.
  2. Home All Axes: Use the control panel to home the X, Y, and Z axes to establish reference points.
  3. Disable Steppers: Disable stepper motors from the menu to allow free movement of the print head.
  4. Check Four Corners: Move the print head to each of the four corners of the build plate using manual controls.
  5. Adjust Bed Screws: Use the bed leveling knobs under the build plate to adjust height at each corner.
  6. Paper Test: Place a standard piece of paper between the nozzle and bed - you should feel slight resistance when moving the paper.
  7. Center Check: Move to the center of the bed and verify the gap is consistent with the corners.
  8. Repeat Process: Repeat steps 4-7 at least twice to ensure proper leveling across the entire bed surface.
  9. Test Print: Run a bed level test print to visually confirm proper leveling across the entire surface.
Warning: Proper leveling is critical for print quality and adhesion. Always level the bed when cold and recheck periodically.

Key Features

Carborundum Glass Bed

Premium textured glass build plate with excellent adhesion when hot and easy release when cool, eliminating the need for additional adhesives.

CR Touch Auto Leveling Sensor

Integrated CR Touch sensor assists with manual leveling by providing visual feedback and measurements at multiple points across the bed.

Dual Z-axis Screws

Twin Z-axis lead screws provide enhanced stability and consistency, reducing gantry sag and improving print quality across the entire build area.

Silent Motherboard

Upgraded silent motherboard with TMC2225 drivers significantly reduces operational noise while improving motion control precision.

Full Metal Extruder

All-metal extruder assembly provides consistent filament feeding and increased durability compared to plastic components.

4.3-inch Color Screen

High-resolution color touchscreen with intuitive interface makes navigation and control simple and user-friendly.

Leveling System Components

Leveling Knobs

Four spring-loaded knobs for precise manual adjustment of bed height at each corner

CR Touch Sensor

Provides visual feedback during manual leveling process with LED indicators

Carborundum Surface

Textured glass surface that maintains consistent flatness for accurate leveling

Stiffer Springs

Upgraded yellow springs maintain bed level for longer periods between adjustments

Manual Controls

Precise manual movement controls for positioning the nozzle during leveling

Visual Aids

On-screen instructions and visual indicators guide through leveling process

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, nozzle too high, dirty bed surface Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol
Nozzle scraping bed Bed too high, incorrect Z-offset, uneven bed Lower bed corners, adjust Z-offset, check for warped bed
Uneven first layer Bed not properly leveled, warped bed, loose eccentric nuts Re-level entire bed, check bed flatness, tighten eccentric nuts
CR Touch not working Loose connection, firmware issue, physical obstruction Check wiring connections, update firmware, ensure probe deploys freely
Bed level changes frequently Loose leveling knobs, worn springs, thermal expansion Tighten knobs, upgrade springs, level at printing temperature
Corners not matching center Warped bed, incorrect leveling technique, gantry sag Use mesh leveling, check gantry alignment, adjust dual Z screws

Common Leveling Issues

  • Inconsistent First Layer: Always level bed at printing temperature as metal expands when heated
  • Bed Warping: Use glass bed or consider mesh leveling compensation in firmware
  • Spring Tension: Ensure all springs are equally compressed to about 70-80% of their length
  • Z-offset Calibration: After leveling, fine-tune Z-offset for perfect first layer squish
  • Gantry Alignment: Ensure X gantry is parallel to bed by adjusting dual Z screws
  • Periodic Maintenance: Re-level bed every 5-10 prints or when changing build surfaces
