Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex keys (included)
  • Screwdriver (Phillips)
  • Spanner (included)
  • Leveling card (included)
  • Pliers

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unbox and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from packaging and verify all parts are included and undamaged.
  2. Assemble Frame: Connect the vertical aluminum extrusions to the base frame using provided screws and hex keys.
  3. Install X-Axis: Mount the X-axis gantry onto the vertical extrusions, ensuring smooth movement.
  4. Install Print Head: Attach the direct drive extruder assembly to the X-axis carriage.
  5. Connect Electronics: Route and connect all cables to the main control board following the color-coded labels.
  6. Install Build Plate: Place the magnetic PEI spring steel build plate onto the heated bed.
  7. Power and Calibrate: Connect power cable, turn on printer, and run auto-leveling procedure.
  8. Test Print: Load filament and run the included test print to verify proper operation.
Warning: Ensure proper ventilation when 3D printing. Keep printer away from flammable materials and supervise during initial prints.

Key Features

Direct Drive Extruder

The integrated direct drive extruder provides precise filament control, enabling reliable printing with flexible materials and reducing stringing.

CR Touch Auto Leveling

Automatic bed leveling with CR Touch sensor ensures perfect first layer adhesion across the entire build plate without manual adjustments.

Sprite Extruder Pro

All-metal hotend with dual-gear extruder provides consistent extrusion at high speeds up to 500mm/s with minimal retraction.

Silent Motherboard

32-bit silent motherboard with TMC2225 stepper drivers reduces operational noise to below 50dB while improving motion control.

PEI Spring Steel Plate

Magnetic removable PEI-coated spring steel build plate provides excellent adhesion when hot and easy print removal when cool.

High-Speed Printing

Optimized kinematics and powerful stepper motors enable acceleration up to 5000mm/s² and print speeds up to 500mm/s.

Printing Technologies Explained

Linear Advance

Pressure control algorithm for precise extrusion at corners and complex geometries

Input Shaping

Vibration compensation for cleaner prints at high speeds

Power Loss Recovery

Automatic resume printing after power interruption

Filament Runout Sensor

Pauses printing when filament runs out and resumes after reloading

Auto Z-Offset

Automatically calculates optimal nozzle distance from bed

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Wireless file transfer and remote monitoring via Creality Cloud

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, loose connections Check power supply, ensure all cables are securely connected
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect Z-offset, dirty bed Run auto-leveling, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping Perform cold pull to clear clog, check extruder tension
Layer shifting Loose belts, mechanical obstruction Tighten belts, check for obstructions in movement path
Stringing/oozing Temperature too high, retraction settings Lower temperature, increase retraction distance/speed
Warped prints Insufficient bed heat, cooling too fast Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, add brim

Error Codes

  • E1: Hotend temperature error - Check thermistor connection
  • E2: Bed temperature error - Check bed thermistor
  • E3: Thermal runaway - Check heating elements and cooling
  • E4: Filament runout - Load new filament
  • E5: CR Touch error - Check probe connection
  • E6: Stepper motor error - Check motor connections
