Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts and extrudes thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create 3D objects

Bowden Extruder

Lightweight extruder design reduces moving mass for faster and more precise printing movements

Heated Bed

Temperature-controlled print surface improves adhesion and prevents warping with various materials

Auto-Leveling

Optional BLTouch auto-leveling ensures perfect first layer adhesion across the entire build plate

Filament Detection

Optional filament runout sensor pauses printing when filament runs out, allowing for easy reloading

OctoPrint Compatible

Fully compatible with OctoPrint for remote monitoring and control via web interface

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, faulty power supply, loose connections Check power supply, ensure all cables are securely connected
Poor print quality Unlevel bed, incorrect temperature, clogged nozzle Re-level bed, adjust temperature settings, clean nozzle
Filament not extruding Clogged nozzle, extruder gear slipping, incorrect temperature Clean nozzle, check extruder tension, adjust temperature
Layer shifting Loose belts, mechanical obstruction, overheating drivers Tighten belts, check for obstructions, ensure proper cooling
Warped prints Poor bed adhesion, incorrect bed temperature, drafts Use adhesion aids, adjust bed temperature, eliminate drafts
Stringing/oozing Incorrect retraction settings, temperature too high Adjust retraction settings, lower printing temperature

Error Codes

  • E1: Hotend temperature error - Check thermistor and heating cartridge
  • E2: Bed temperature error - Check bed thermistor and heating element
  • E3: Thermal runaway - Check all temperature sensors and heating elements
  • E4: Power supply error - Check power connections and voltage
  • E5: Motor error - Check stepper motor connections and drivers
  • E6: Communication error - Check USB/SD card connections
