Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex keys (included)
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Leveling card or feeler gauge
  • Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unbox and Inspect: Carefully remove all components from packaging and verify all parts are included and undamaged.
  2. Frame Assembly: Assemble the aluminum extrusion frame according to the provided diagram, ensuring all connections are tight.
  3. Install Motion System: Mount the X, Y, and Z-axis stepper motors and install the belts with proper tension.
  4. Install Print Bed: Mount the heated bed and ensure it is securely attached to the Y-axis carriage.
  5. Install Extruder: Mount the Sprite direct drive extruder to the X-axis carriage and connect all cables.
  6. Electrical Connections: Connect all motors, endstops, heated bed, and hotend to the mainboard following the wiring diagram.
  7. Level the Bed: Perform manual bed leveling followed by automatic bed leveling using the CR-Touch probe.
  8. Test Run: Perform a test print to verify proper operation and calibration.
Warning: Ensure proper electrical grounding and keep the printer on a stable, level surface away from flammable materials.

Key Features

Sprite Direct Drive Extruder

The all-metal Sprite direct drive extruder provides precise filament control, reduced retraction distance, and excellent performance with flexible filaments.

CR-Touch Auto Leveling

Automatic bed leveling with CR-Touch probe ensures perfect first layer adhesion across the entire print surface, eliminating manual leveling hassles.

Dual Z-axis Lead Screws

Dual Z-axis motors with lead screws provide exceptional stability and precision, preventing gantry sag and ensuring consistent layer quality.

PEI Spring Steel Build Plate

The magnetic PEI-coated spring steel build plate offers excellent adhesion when hot and easy print removal when cool, with a smooth textured finish.

Silent Mainboard

TMC2208 stepper drivers provide near-silent operation while maintaining precise motor control and reducing electrical noise.

All-Metal Hotend

Capable of reaching 300°C, the all-metal hotend allows printing with a wide range of materials including PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, and more.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts and extrudes thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create 3D objects

Direct Drive

Extruder mounted directly on the print head reduces retraction and improves flexible filament printing

Auto Bed Leveling

Probe measures multiple points on the bed surface and compensates for any unevenness automatically

Heated Bed

Maintains consistent temperature to prevent warping and improve adhesion for various materials

Dual Z-axis

Two synchronized motors ensure the X-axis gantry remains perfectly level throughout prints

Filament Runout Sensor

Detects when filament runs out and pauses the print, allowing for filament change without losing progress

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, main switch off, faulty power supply Check power cable connection, ensure main switch is on, verify power supply output
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height, dirty build plate Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean build plate with isopropyl alcohol
Extruder clicking or skipping Nozzle clog, extruder tension too tight/loose, printing too fast Clean or replace nozzle, adjust extruder tension, reduce print speed
Layer shifting Belt tension too loose, mechanical obstruction, overheating drivers Tighten belts, check for obstructions, ensure proper cooling
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings incorrect, temperature too high Increase retraction distance/speed, lower printing temperature
Warping/corner lifting Bed temperature too low, cooling too fast, draft in room Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, reduce part cooling fan speed

Error Codes

  • E1: Hotend temperature error - Check thermistor connection
  • E2: Bed temperature error - Check bed thermistor
  • E3: Thermal runaway - Check heating elements and cooling
  • E4: Filament runout - Load new filament and resume
  • E5: CR-Touch error - Check probe connection and function
  • E6: Motor stall - Check for mechanical obstructions
