Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex key set (included)
  • Leveling card or feeler gauge
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Isopropyl alcohol (for bed cleaning)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove all components from packaging, checking for any shipping damage.
  2. Assemble Frame: Connect the aluminum frame sections using provided screws and hex keys.
  3. Install Print Bed: Mount the heated print bed onto the Y-axis carriage, ensuring it's securely fastened.
  4. Install Extruder Assembly: Mount the dual extruder assembly onto the X-axis gantry.
  5. Connect Electronics: Route and connect all cables to the main control board following the color-coded guides.
  6. Level the Print Bed: Use the automatic bed leveling system followed by manual fine-tuning for optimal first layer adhesion.
  7. Test Run: Perform a test print using the included sample filament to verify proper operation.
Warning: Ensure proper ventilation when 3D printing and keep the printer away from flammable materials. First-time setup should be supervised by an experienced user.

Key Features

Dual Independent Extruders

Two completely independent extruders allow for multi-material and multi-color printing without oozing or cross-contamination between filaments.

Automatic Bed Leveling

16-point automatic bed leveling with capacitive sensor ensures perfect first layer adhesion across the entire print surface.

All-Metal Hotend

High-temperature all-metal hotend allows printing with advanced materials including ABS, PETG, Nylon, and composite filaments.

Enclosed Print Chamber

Fully enclosed chamber with temperature control provides optimal printing conditions for engineering materials and reduces warping.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Wireless printing capability allows remote monitoring and control via Flashforge Cloud or direct network connection.

Resume Print Function

Power failure recovery feature automatically resumes printing from the last completed layer after unexpected power interruptions.

Print Modes Explained

Single Material Mode

Standard printing with one material, optimized for speed and reliability

Dual Material Mode

Two materials printed simultaneously for multi-color or composite prints

Support Material Mode

Dedicated support material that dissolves in water for complex geometries

High Speed Mode

Optimized for draft quality prints with increased speed up to 150mm/s

High Precision Mode

0.05mm layer height for detailed models and miniature prints

Engineering Mode

Enclosed chamber heating for advanced materials like ABS and Nylon

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, emergency stop engaged Check power supply, ensure emergency stop button is released
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect nozzle height, dirty bed surface Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Nozzle clogged, extruder gear slipping, filament tangled Perform cold pull, check extruder tension, ensure filament spool rotates freely
Layer shifting Belt tension issues, mechanical obstruction, overheating drivers Check and adjust belt tension, ensure smooth movement on all axes
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings incorrect, temperature too high Adjust retraction distance and speed, lower nozzle temperature
Warped prints Bed temperature too low, insufficient enclosure temperature Increase bed temperature, close chamber doors, use brim or raft

Error Codes

  • E01: Heater error - Check thermistor and heater cartridge connections
  • E02: Bed temperature error - Verify bed thermistor connection
  • E03: Thermal runaway - Check cooling fans and temperature sensors
  • E04: Extruder motor error - Check motor connections and current settings
  • E05: Axis motor error - Verify stepper motor connections
  • E06: SD card error - Format SD card or replace with compatible card
