Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Hex key set (included)
  • Screwdriver (Phillips head)
  • Leveling card or feeler gauge
  • Pliers
  • Cleaning cloth

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Unboxing: Carefully remove the printer from its packaging and verify all components are present.
  2. Assembly: Attach the filament holder and spool assembly to the rear of the printer frame.
  3. Leveling: Perform manual bed leveling using the included leveling card and adjustment knobs.
  4. Filament Loading: Feed filament through the guide tube into the extruder assembly until it reaches the hotend.
  5. Electrical Connection: Connect to a properly grounded 110-240V, 50-60Hz outlet. Ensure proper voltage setting.
  6. Initial Calibration: Run the built-in calibration routine to set Z-offset and bed mesh leveling.
  7. Test Print: Run the included test print file to verify proper operation and calibration.
Warning: Ensure the printer is placed on a stable, level surface away from flammable materials. Keep children and pets away during operation.

Key Features

Direct Drive Extruder

The direct drive extruder provides precise filament control, enabling better printing of flexible materials and reducing stringing with retraction-sensitive filaments.

Auto Bed Leveling

36-point automatic bed leveling with inductive sensor ensures perfect first layer adhesion across the entire build surface, compensating for any bed irregularities.

PEI Spring Steel Bed

Magnetic PEI-coated spring steel build plate provides excellent adhesion when hot and easy print removal when cool, with flexible removal for difficult prints.

Silent Motherboard

TMC2209 stepper drivers provide near-silent operation while maintaining precise motor control, reducing noise during printing operations.

Wi-Fi Connectivity

Built-in Wi-Fi allows for remote monitoring and control via Flashforge Cloud or third-party applications like OctoPrint and Pronterface.

All-Metal Hotend

Capable of reaching 300°C, the all-metal hotend enables printing with engineering materials like ABS, PETG, Nylon, and polycarbonate.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Printing

Fused Deposition Modeling builds objects layer by layer using melted thermoplastic filament

Resume Printing

Automatic power failure recovery resumes printing from the last layer after unexpected shutdown

Filament Runout Sensor

Detects when filament runs out and pauses printing, allowing for filament change without print failure

Power Loss Recovery

Saves print progress to resume automatically after power is restored

Multi-material Support

Compatible with PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU, wood-filled, and other specialty filaments

High-speed Mode

Optimized acceleration and jerk settings for faster printing without sacrificing quality

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, main switch off Check power supply, ensure main switch is in ON position
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, incorrect Z-offset, dirty bed Re-level bed, adjust Z-offset, clean bed with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Nozzle clogged, extruder gear slipping Perform cold pull to clear clog, check extruder tension
Layer shifting Belt tension, mechanical obstruction Check and adjust belt tension, ensure smooth movement
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings, temperature too high Adjust retraction distance and speed, lower nozzle temperature
Warping/corner lift Bed temperature, cooling, adhesion Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, apply adhesive

Error Codes

  • E1: Heating failed - Check thermistor and heating cartridge
  • E2: Bed heating failed - Check bed thermistor and heater
  • E3: Thermal runaway - Check for proper heating and cooling
  • E4: Filament runout - Load new filament and resume
  • E5: Over temperature - Allow to cool and check cooling fan
  • E6: Under temperature - Check heating elements and insulation
