Key Features

Resume Print Function

Automatically saves print progress and can resume printing after power failure, preventing wasted time and materials.

Precision V-Slot Wheels

High-precision V-slot aluminum extrusion and POM wheels ensure smooth and accurate movement on all axes.

MK8 Extruder

MK8 extruder with upgraded spring provides consistent filament feeding and better extrusion performance.

Carborundum Glass Bed

Ultra-flat carborundum glass build plate provides excellent adhesion while printing and easy removal when cooled.

Meanwell Power Supply

High-quality Meanwell power supply ensures stable voltage output and safe operation during long printing sessions.

Upgradable Design

Open-source design allows for extensive modifications and upgrades including auto bed leveling and silent stepper drivers.

Printing Technology Explained

FDM Technology

Fused Deposition Modeling melts and extrudes thermoplastic filament layer by layer to create 3D objects.

Bowden Extruder

Lightweight print head design reduces moving mass for faster and more precise printing movements.

Thermal Runaway Protection

Built-in safety feature that automatically shuts down heating if temperature exceeds safe limits.

SD Card Printing

Offline printing capability allows operation without computer connection once print file is loaded.

Manual Bed Leveling

Four-point manual leveling system with sturdy springs allows precise adjustment of build plate.

Filament Runout Detection

Optional sensor can pause print when filament runs out, allowing for filament change and resume.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Printer won't start Power issue, faulty power supply Check power cable connection, verify power switch is on
Poor first layer adhesion Bed not level, wrong bed temperature, dirty build surface Re-level bed, increase bed temperature, clean with isopropyl alcohol
Filament not extruding Nozzle clogged, extruder gear slipping, wrong temperature Clean nozzle, check extruder tension, verify temperature settings
Layer shifting Belt tension too loose, mechanical obstruction, overheating drivers Tighten belts, check for obstructions, ensure proper cooling
Stringing/oozing Retraction settings incorrect, temperature too high Adjust retraction settings, lower printing temperature
Warping/corner lifting Bed temperature too low, cooling too fast, draft in room Increase bed temperature, use enclosure, reduce cooling fan speed

Common Issues

  • Under-extrusion: Check filament diameter settings, extruder calibration, and nozzle for clogs
  • Over-extrusion: Reduce flow rate, calibrate E-steps, check filament diameter settings
  • Z-axis binding: Ensure lead screw is straight and properly aligned, lubricate if necessary
  • Thermal runaway error: Check thermistor connection, replace if damaged
  • SD card not reading: Format SD card to FAT32, ensure proper insertion
  • Blobbing/zits: Enable coasting, adjust retraction, check linear advance settings
